Wolf/Big bubble took us to Tanot bay for the next dive. There was a catamaran and motorbike wreck on the sea floor. The motorbike was guarded by a territorial damselfish that threatened anyone who trespasses. I moved into the damselfishes territory with the camera and received a prompt biting on my middle finger that felt somewhere between a tickle and a nibble. The face of the damselfish lightens from black to yellow when the fish is aggravated. Fascinating little thing. There was also a sea slug/cucumber with very peculiar tentacle things at its front, I got some good macro shots of it on the video. I spent a lot of time switching between 720p recordings in slow motion on the camera and 2.7k 30fps footage for highly detailed shots. By this stage I was becoming very fluid with changing settings on the gopro under water.

Our first dive at my favourite dive site in the Gulf - possibly the world. Our guide, Nuz, mapped the pinnacles for his Dive Master qualification, and his passion was contagious, even pre-dive. The site is white rock submerged mountain terrain covered in gardens of magnificent anemones. The sealife are amongst those with the most character I have encountered in Thailand: big, animated groupers, triggerfish, and schools and schools of prey fish. Watching the predators pick off the smaller fish, and observing schools of fish through other schools of fish was a huge highlight. The viz was incredible, the sun was out, my kit was working perfectly, and I felt like the little mermaid because the water was so clear and still. We dove with the Germans.
